Why Nordic Walking?

Nordic walking is an enjoyable way to be active outdoors! Using specially designed poles, it adds gentle power to your stride and turns an everyday walk into a full-body workout.

Originally developed by cross-country skiers as a summer training method, it’s now loved by people of all ages and fitness levels.

Nordic walking is about more than exercise — it’s about actively exploring the outdoors, improving fitness and wellbeing, forming friendships and having fun.

In comparison with walking, Nordic Walking helps us to use more of our muscle
mass and achieve a higher level of fitness in a shorter distance. Nordic Walking is
also a more effective way of walking, additionally encompassing postural and
positive physiological effects due to its increased upper body workout via the Nordic
Walking poles. Advantageously, the Nordic Walking poles provide extra support and
for your upper limbs and stability for your lower limbs. Nordic walking is therefore
based on the taught instruction combination of posture, walking technique and active
use of Nordic Walking poles.
